Recently opened at Ebisu Circuit—the holy land of drift— JDM DRIFT SCHOOL 翔-SHO-
is a drift school produced entirely by Shota Konno, a former apprentice of drift legend Nobushige Kumakubo!
Welcoming all comers—including not just people who want to have a go at drifting, but also people who want to get good at driving in general, and even people who don’t have a driver’s license—the school aims to help everyone enjoy driving by using coaching in drifting to teach them not just pro-level techniques, but also how to improve their fundamental driving skills as well.

Attendance Fee
An attendance fee is required to attend each school.
Please check the drift school page for detailed information on each school’s attendance fees.
The attendance fees include the vehicle rental fees, tire and gasoline fees, fees for using the circuit, engine oil fees, and rental fees for the other equipment used.
Payment Methods
You can pay the attendance fees, etc. either by credit card or by bank transfer (overseas remittance) to the account specified by the school. We’ll tell you the specified account by email when we receive your attendance application.
Note: If additional costs arise for any reason, we’ll ask you to settle them in cash on your last day at the school.
Cancellation Policy
If we still haven’t been able to confirm your payment by one week from the day after we sent you your “official attendance acceptance” email, your attendance application will become invalid, and will be automatically canceled. (If there’s less than a week to go before the school starts, we’ll tell you what the deadline is.)
(We won’t contact you to check up on things or remind you.)
In addition, for cancellations made less than one week before the day the school starts (including the automatic cancellations described above), we charge a cancellation fee of 100% of the attendance fee. If you’ve already paid the attendance fee, we’ll regard that as the cancellation fee.
Note: If there are only a few days to go before the day the school starts, we’ll tell you the details separately.
Note: If you’re having difficulty transferring your payment within the deadline period, please contact our secretariat before the deadline has passed. We’ll extend the deadline if we deem that the circumstances are unavoidable. (If you don’t contact us until after the deadline, the cancellation can’t be revoked.)
Note: We’re also unable to check whether our emails have gotten automatically sorted into your device’s spam folder, or if it’s one of those extremely rare cases of failed delivery with no error message at all. Consequently, these situations will also be dealt with in the same way as above. Please contact our secretariat if you don’t receive an “official attendance acceptance” email from them within three days after sending the “attendance application email form.”
Refund
If you become unable to attend a school that you’ve already paid the attendance fees, etc. for, you can cancel your application and get a refund if you tell us at least one week before the day the school starts.
(Please understand that we can’t refund, etc. your attendance and other fees if you cancel less than one week before it starts.)
Please note that when paying refunds, we deduct 1,000 yen as an administration, bank transfer, and foreign-exchange fee.
Warnings
Note: We ourselves, our staff, and the operating company won’t be liable for any of the following in the unlikely event that they arise while the people involved are attending the school: death or injury due to crashes, etc.; damage to or losing belongings; trouble between attendees; etc.
Note: If you’re deemed unfit to attend the school because you’ve been drinking alcohol, are drunk, or for any other reason, you may be denied permission to attend at the discretion of the staff.
Note: Upon completing your application, you’ll be deemed to have agreed to all the cancellation policy details, warnings, etc.
Introducing Our Staff

Shota Konno
Shota Konno got hooked on drifting with radio-controlled cars (commonly known as “RC drift”) when he was a fifth-grader at elementary school, and has also won top prizes in the Pro RC competition (a series of races held all across Japan).
He often went to watch races with real cars as well. Inspired by seeing D1 Grand Prix Series driver Naoki Nakamura, he started doing drifting himself when he was in junior high school.
With support from his father (who runs an auto repair shop) as well, he went to a school held at Ebisu Circuit, where he honed his skills under Nobushige Kumakubo.
Since 2013, he’s also been competing in the D1 Divisional Series, which was established as an introductory category for D1 competitions.
He finished sixth in the series in 2014 and second in 2015, and has also competed in national championships.
He made his debut in the second round of the 2019 D1 Lights Series, chalking up a third-place finish.
Since then, he’s been achieving top rankings in the Ebisu Drift Series and numerous other competitions.

Everyone’s a beginner at first, so please don’t worry, and feel free to attend.
Even people who don’t have a driver’s license or couldn’t drive a manual transmission before come along and successfully learn how to drift.
Yes, of course. We’ll guide you through everything starting from the basics of how to drive a manual transmission car.
If you contact us in advance when you apply, we’ll pick you up at the nearest station.
A: Since you’ll only be driving on a closed course, it’ll still be fine even if you don’t have a driver’s license (and even if you aren’t old enough to get one.) As long as your feet can reach the pedals, no problem.
Junior high school students have actually attended the school before, too. Please note however that people who aren’t old enough to get a driver’s license must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
